What is Bioremediation | Importance of Bio remediation

Bioremediation - Meaning, Concept behind it and importance...

Bioremediation is a term used in  applied science that uses biodegradation of organic and metallic contaminant through stimulation of indigenous microbial population by providing certain amendments, such as adding oxygen, limiting nutrients, or adding exotic microbial species.

It uses natural or externally introduced microorganisms to dissolve and convert dangerous organic constituents into compounds with reduced toxicity and/or availability.

Bioremediation technologies fall into two broad classes:

Bioremediation

(1) Ex situ technologies (e.g. slurry phase angle , land treatment, solidness phase, composting), and

(2) In situ technologies. Active remediation can include summation of amendments such as nutrients

or atomic number 8 while passive remediation utilizes natural fading to adequately characterize, fashion model and monitor the site to grounds natural attenuation and protection of potentiality receptors.
